Our Process

1. Dreaming & Planning

At our first meeting in your home, we will:

•     Listen to what you like and don’t like about your current home - your goals, needs, and desires with the project

•     Discuss how our process helps to make your project a simple and enjoyable experience

•     Discuss your desired budget and what you’re looking to invest in the project

•     Review and discuss the next steps in our process, which is usually:

•     For us to put together a detailed budget and scope of work, we will need a design for the project. This is done through our designer, Linda.

•     If you decide to move forward with the design phase of the project, we will take photos and get detailed measurements at this first meeting

2. Design & Project Planning

•     We will get to work on a few design options for your project (a clear floorplan and demo plan)

•     We’ll meet at your home to present our designs to you

o   We’ll layer the new design/layout with the current layout so that you can clearly see the changes and updates

o   We’ll discuss more details at this meeting related to products and materials

o   We’ll leave you with the plans to further think about and review

•     Next, we’ll take what we discussed at this meeting and work on a set of design revisions

•     We will start to work on a detailed proposal and begin the material selection process

3. Finalize Your Plans, Proposal, and Make Selections

At this point, we’ll work on the following together:

•     We will give you a ‘shopping list’ related to materials that need to be selected

•     You’ll visit our trusted suppliers and pick the materials for your project

Once your shopping is completed, we will:

•     Review final specifications, materials selected, pricing, and preliminary schedule

•     Review final floor plans and any other necessary views

Our goal is to have all of the decisions made before we start the project – this ensures that the project stays on budget and on time.

4. Final Estimate Presentation / Contract Signing

We will present our final estimate to you based on your selections, design, and all of the work that will take place to deliver a beautiful project.

Once the contract is agreed upon and signed, we will give you the final design bill. Your down payment on the project is not requested until a week or two prior to the start of your project.

We will add you to our production schedule and give you an estimated start date!

5. Pre-Construction

Before we start actual construction, we will:

•     Apply for all necessary permits

•     Order all necessary materials

•     Coordinate delivery of materials

•     Review the production schedule

•     Introduce you to your lead carpenter and the Bailey Construction team

•     Ask a series of questions regarding general ‘housekeeping’ issues to ensure safety and security of your home/kids/pets

•     Answer any questions you may have before we begin

6. Construction

Get excited – it’s time for the project to begin! During construction, we will:

•     Have regular meetings with you to keep you informed

•     Update you on work that is being performed and any updates/changes to the schedule

•     We work hard to address any concerns and questions that may arise during construction

•     We’ll be up-front on any changes that may require cost increases or credits due to changes in scope of work

7. Post-Construction

After construction work is complete:

•     We will walk you through the operation of your new fixtures, appliances, and answer any questions you have

•     Our Warranty Promise starts – If there is a problem with our workmanship – whether it is 5 months or 5 years after the job is completed – we will be there to take care of it, for as long as you own your home.

Our goal is to make this process an enjoyable, stress-free experience for you! We want you to love the enhancements to your home – and share your experience with others who would benefit from our service.
